IEC Connector-
Replace stock IEC connector with cryogenically treated connector for power inlet.
Improvement: Better voltage integrity and better grip on power cord.

Diode Rectifiers
Replace stock rectifiers with ASi ultra low impedance custom handmade versions
Improvement: Replacing the stock, noisy diodes with our handmade ultra low impedance diode bridges bring increased resolution,
removes all grain and grit and better bass qualities. We reworked the bridging topology to allow for far less noise.

Capacitors-
Replace all capacitors in circuits ultra low impedance audio capacitors.
Improvement: These capacitors are much more open sounding, very neutral and have more speed than the stock caps.

Digital inputs-
Replace the input coaxial RCA with high performance version-
Improvement: The stock connector is very poor quality and changing this to a high performance replacement offers better signal
integrity and grounding characteristics.

Silver Wire-
Rewire the WBT NextGen RCA's with Audio Consulting Silver wire and Cotton tubing.
Improvement: No teflon or plastics used around the wire, were we hear frequency shift and imbalances in the sound. This
wire/cotton combo is the most neutral/natural sounding combo that we have heard!

Analog output stage rebuild-
We replace the stock Analog Output Coupling Capacitors with the LeClanche NOS PIO type caps and REMOVE ANALOG OPAMPS!!
Improvement: These are the most natural and neutral sounding capacitors we have heard for signal coupling and really opens up
the soundstage and presents instruments in a very scary lifelike manner. We have compared every cap on the market, such as
Auricap, Mundorf silver PIO, sonicaps, etc.. and every plastic or poly cap sounded unbalanced and had a "synthetic" sound to it.
Neutral/Natural tones are the end result from using these caps in this great little DAC. We remove the Analog output stage op-amps
completely for a minimalistic signal path approach and notice increased transparency, and resolution and removal of all grit for the
unit.

Reviewer: Dean M.

Let me begin by saying that I like Doug Jesse's work. I have several
Doug Jesse-modded components that I am very happy with. So I may
not be the most objective reviewer, but here are my thoughts anyway:

I've been running this modded Lite DAC-Ah in my system (I have actually
listened to it in a couple different systems) for almost two weeks now
and I am mightily impressed. I had the stock unit for some time and the
modded version is a significant improvement. Details, transparency and
soundstage are all dramatically improved.

I listen to a lot of jazz, especially piano trios and female vocals. I notice a
much better sense of the music...cympals are crisp, drum brushes are
eerily "there." Listening to Blossom Dearie's "The Party's Over" from the
Comden and Green songbook, I was immediately struck by the wider
soundstage. The song opens with a wonderful instrumental trio of bass,
drum and guitar (the late, great Barney Kessel, I believe). Guitar and
drum off to the right, big, fat, rollicking bass on the left. I could literally
hear the strings being struck on the bass. When Blossom comes in
front and center, it sounded like she was in the room with me.

I have listened to a lot of the contenders in the $1,000-$1,500 range and
this DAC stacks up against any of them and is better than most. For the
money it is hard to beat. I highly recommend it.
